About Me

My name is Jennifer S Hartwig.

I am a retired clinical research physician who spent nearly 40 years of her life contributing to the development of new medicinal products.  The evidence supporting the safety and efficacy of a new medication has to be robust in order to enable approval by the regulatory authorities, and my experience in the pharmaceutical industry taught me a lot about how to judge evidence.

Astrology has been my life-long hobby.  When I was a teenager, I was fascinated by the night sky and wanted to become an astronomer.  A friend made a mistake and made me a present of a book on astrology . I started drawing up natal charts for fun – and got hooked!  As the years went by, I kept on drawing up charts and became more and more uneasy as the charts really seemed to work, but I knew that there was little evidence to support their validity.  I decided that one day, when I retired, I would address this conundrum.  And now I have retired, hence this website.
